At S. Anna - Marcatelli two important Roman roads – the Via Claudia Augusta and the Opitergium-Feltria-Tridentum – intersect and overlap with one another. The remains of a Roman bridge next to the church are proof of this, and the bridge is one of the surviving Roman infrastructures still recognisable on the left bank of the Piave on the stretch between Colfosco and Falzè. The place name Marcatelli reflects the commercial vocation of the area, which was frequented by pilgrims who stopped off at the church of S. Anna, mentioned in documents as early as 1265. The church, located on the land managed by the Collalto family, was initially dedicated to S. Maria, and inside were fine works of art; the altarpiece by Francesco da Milano, from 1537, is now on display in the Civic Museum of Treviso. The church is built in a meadow surrounded by oak and acacia trees, not far from the Soligo torrent, which runs into the Piave nearby.
After the crossing where the SP4 meets the SP34 at the entrance to Falzè di Piave, continue for about 300 m along the SP34 towards Ponte della Priula. A U-shaped road goes into the area where you can see the little church, not far from the banks of the Piave.
