This is a small, simple, privately owned building, located along the Piave and also known as the “House of the Fairies”, where the writer from Vicenza Goffredo Parise stayed from 1970 to 1983. The dwelling is sparsely, simply furnished, and the aim is to recreate the original setting created by Parise, who after purchasing the house, had it extended, while maintaining the original rectangular shape. The solitary setting and the environment of the gravel beds strongly influenced Parise’s decision to live in Salgareda, and it wash here that he penned his last works, including the famous Sillabari. The author described the house on the left of the Piave as “that little place in the woods, surrounded by fruit and birds and wild creatures, nestling within a huge state territory opening out on the river…” adding that “it was more than a home; it was a refuge, something that appeared to spring from the pages of one of Grimm’s fairytales – all that was missing were the elves, the witches and the magic”. In 1983 Parise moved to a house in the centre of Ponte di Piave, which was donated to the town on his death; it is today known as “Goffredo Parise House of Culture”, and on the top floor is a civic library and a large collection of contemporary art, as well as the archive, featuring manuscripts, books, press cuttings and typewritten notes by Goffredo Parise.
The Parise house museum can be reached from the centre of Ponte di Piave along the SR53 Postumia; near the square, take Via Roma and follow the tourist signs. The building, surrounded by the gardens, is about 300 metres from the square.

Salgareda Council has recently created a cycle path through the greenery along the left bank of the Piave. The route runs through lush woodland featuring autochthonous plant species, and can be reached from the "Casa Parise" area in Via Gonfo (a side road on the right of Via Argine Piave) in Ponte Piave, and runs for about four kilometres through the “Chiesavecchia Oasis”, a picnic area with benches and tables where it is worth stopping off to breathe in the aroma of the woods and the river just a few metres away. The route comes to an end once you reach the border with Noventa di Piave, just after "Casa Ombretta".
